So driving down the highway and my hood decides it wants to fly open!

I do not know why, It seemed VERY secure...

Anyways, my windsheild is completely smashed.

How difficult is it to replace it myself?

Are there any carbon fiber hoods available for Avengers? lol

I watched the guy replace my windshield and for the price I'd leave it to the professionals.  It didn't look hard, but the right tools are important.

Get the G-Force carbon fiber hood.  Just so I can ask you questions about it because I'm hoping it will work on the V8 Venger so I can replace the cheap hoodscoop I am currently using.  I just need to know the dimension of the ram scoop so I can determine if it will allign with my air cleaner.

Glad no one got hurt - good luck with the repairs!

You're looking at about $200 for an installer to come out, parts and labor included.

LET THEM DO IT!! Sit back, and crack you open a nice cold Mt. Dew. enjoy the non-labor you will have to do. lol.

But yeah, if it leaks, THEY fix it. not you.

Yea I'm glad there was no one else near me on the highway b/c I had NO vision of in front of me so I was stopping blind.

I really don't have much money at the time but I will probably just get it installed professionally and bang the old hood back into shape for the time being, get some chains and hood pins to strap it down!!!! lol

Man, that is a rough start.  If anything breaks on the cars Dave can upgrade it to something better.  So get a better and cooler hood and.. well... maybe some hoodpins just in case Wink

Yea I wanted a Carbon Fiber hood w/ hood pins.  I'm not into 'rice/tuner' but i think a carbon fiber hood on a black (my car is going to be painted black) is pretty tasteful IMO

But that Viper style hood looks pretty sharp as well and is cheaper than a CF hood

Yea I got the hood banged back into shape for a temporary fix

hopefully it's a functional hood scoop.

I doubt it is...not like it's going to make this lil 2.5 faster lol

I have a go-fast car already so I'll just make this one look nice......eventually

the TA isn't stock...cam'd P&P heads/intake, built 4spd and bolt ons

the Avenger is slow, and the only way I could fix that is turbo or nitrous...

I've already tried making a V6 fast (my old camaro) and it just doesn't work without big $$$$

exactly, I read somewhere stock V6 Avenger ran like a 17.xx stock!  that would take alot of work to compare to my 12-13 sec TA

I'll do exhaust to give it a better tone and maybe a homemade-CAI but that's about it, then a nice hood, fresh paint and some nice 18" or so rims w/ 5% limo tint all round and it should look pretty sharp
