Sup with the shift VDO light?

I would rip that "thing" out by the time i would go to 4th gear... just dont see myself driving with that huge spot light hitting my face when i "should" switch.  3k is my shift point and i know exactly how the car sounds when it is time to switch.

its hard to see it in the pictures but how i have it angled it doesn't "hit me in the face" and its not that big either .  i will admit that i am a bit unfamiliar with the 420A motor, and am still learning where my power is and the optimal shift points. i am using the shift light as a temporary(hence the Velcro holding into place and not screws) tool to help myself so i do not have to stare at the tach will driving. so i guess to each his own. Undecided

thanks aaron, ive got many issues i am dealing with now. need a new radiator, car blows the engine fusable link when the a/c is on, the p/s pump pulley bearing is shot and screaming, the headlights are horribly yellow inside and out. and ive got many rattles to track and tighten.

well i scored a new p/s pump, the rattles were a mixture between shot motor mounts(threw in some polyurethane mounts) and exhaust heat shields(welded the up). and got a new a/c compressor the other one was locking up.

now just tying to find the best deal on an aluminum radiator. 300bux for a mitsumoto is the best so far.

yeah sorry i was a little bit too critical  Wink

yeah rad should be around 300-330$  i had a tiny crack on plastic part where upper hose connected, it was leaking very slow but was still annoying, i replaced in spring for about 320$ i think from Advance Auto.

and about yellowed headlights.  take them out, wet sand them starting from 1000 grid, then move up till 2000 grid. make sure that all that old yellow plastic is off the headlight so when it is wet it looks clear.  when it dries it will look very hazy due to sanding.  i applied 2-3 coat of clear coat (you can get a small can from AdvanceAuto for few bucks) and it still looks good.  not the same as brand new plastic but it will definetelly change the appearance and performance of the headlights.  try it!

- Cheers!

You will have 2 options: 'Chrome' or 'Black Diamond'. I'd go with the black diamond. lol
