depends on how much u wanna spend...the I4 is a lot easier to work with. parts are more readily available. DT and nykon can fill u in on the rest.

I4 = easy to turbo
V6= near impossible to turbo

I've got $1000's in the motor ect and large shot of NOS and a turboed I4 will probably beat me ...

Yes Bad Venge.. it saddens me.  Cry

But bring on any stock one!!  Grin

 Wink

I got some of the stuff for the V6...  other parts include: bored throttle body, insulated gaskets, headers, etc...

I would really like to know the HP outcome from a full port and polish and shaved heads on our 2.5L.  Undecided .. I guess that would be if it is even possible to find someone to do it.

IMO

L4 = Boost = Fast = Good
V6 = no boost+crappy auto tranny+weight+harder to work on = poo

that is all.

Unless you are incredibly stupid and love throwing money around you can shave 5/6 seconds off the 1/4 mile time for the cost of a done up GSX

the 4 banger wins. Its so much easier to build that engine than the 6. there are more parts more...well pretty much everything except initial power. Im with nykon on this V6 is poo

umm...actually...thats a diff. story...3.5 is 37 more hp. combined with headrs there's more...so its hard to say at that point...i havent really heard any #'s in either case, but like i said. its close.

no, lol take it from me the 6 is not a fun engine well at least the 2.5 isnt the annoying tranny that never knows when to shift  and likes to go bad and the fact that for a 6 its a little wimpy. Get a 4 get the big three done to it and it will be more fun then theres always turbo. Now the 3.0 is a little different its got a lot more room to play

ok let me rephrase.... I would prefer a 3.0 avenger rather than a I4, but I would prolly rather have a I4 over a 2.5

If I had an empty engine bay it would all depend on money and what I want for the car.  If you are planning on keeping your car fairly stock (intake, headers, exhaust, etc.) I'd go V-6 in a heartbeat everytime.

If you want to race or have a fast car and have money for a full build like I hope to years down the road, I'd go with the 4.

Find your goals for the car, research and price out what you want to do, then go from their.  For a daily driver I'm very partial to my V6.
