its ok ill just QUOTE the ASE book at school about the rotors not helping much in the heat department. I dont say things out of my ass i only say them when i know they are right.

Shiano got what i was saying to begine with they do not LOWER the heat they just help its more about getting the gasses that are created from the friction off out from between the pad and rotor even then slotted dont do that great a job the drilled do better slotted brakes are designed to keep the pad flat and even it kills pad life but keeps brake performance up to par

Oh and for your info I AM ASE certified on brakes. Which by the way has NOTHING to do with brake performance inhancements such as new rotor its called Automotive Service Excellancy which means its about FIXING brake systems not anything to do with how a rotor works better or worse than another rotor. However I have spent quite a few years now learning all i can about cars and all the various systems that go along with them.

Normaly im not this pissed but before you insult my intelegence again Matt know what you are saying.

Now im done with my rant.

 Grin

seriously though i lost it on that i should have kept my anger in check.
The book is for the people in the school to learn from in an ASE format( the questions are always answered with 2 right answers one just is a better fit than the other and they are not easy answeres ive failed quite a few tests since i started school) its got one paragrah about the whole thing. it basically says they were made for racing at first to help lower the braking temps but the temps werent really lowered however they did find that the gasses were disipated better. So probably the best racing rotor you can have if you are not worried about pad life is a vented cross drilled and slotted rotor, not only does it stay cooler(vented) it gets rid of the gasses(cross drilled) and keeps the pads in optimum opperation by keeping them flat(slotted).

And Matt dude i am sorry for freakin out like that.

It is not American society of engineers that certifies technicians in the United States...As a card carrying ASE Master Tech for the last 25 years...15 with the L1 advanced engine perf test...It is Automotive Service Excellance...but don't take the young guy and the old guys word for it...See for yourself on thier website.

And for the record, you guys should really cut back on the red meat and energy drinks!
