To the rear of the brakes there is a rubber grommet to remove... there is a star type wheel to adjust ... I forget what way loosens/tightens

I have the rotors off and I see the star wheel at the bottom. So just turn it till it stops rubbing? And this will stay adjusted and not turn on its own?

It's easier to do it from the rear with rotors installed ...they are "supposed" to be self adjusting meaning when worn it'll move out ...

It is adjusted as far as it can go away from the inside of the rotor. I guess that would be all the way in?

there is a rough adjustment for the parking brake cable under the center console if you need more cable, but it's gonna move both sides together.

I've adjusted that before and that's not the problem. Also, I've been having problems with the passenger parking brake not releasing to where it would drag the tire. After dragging a few feet, it would finally release. I'm 5-spd so having a properly working parking brake is essential.

didn't say it was the problem. if you've got too much cable take it out there, but apparently you knew that..

Brakes...

Ok here we go....To adjust parking brakes you take the drum off and there will be a star wheel...its going to be between the two shoes (i dont have the drums so i dont know but there is either a wheel cylinder up top, or they are self actuating and the whole assembly moves starting with the primary shoe that pushes the secondary shoe to the drum Primary is shorter and secondary is longer) either way there is a star wheel you need to pull the arm off of it that locks in with the teeth and you can use a brake spoon or a screwdriver to move the wheel back in(easy way to know if your going the right way is if you dont pull the arm that locks the star wheels teeth it will turn in one direction only...thats NOT the direction you want to go to pull the brake back in)

Now to adjust it right you should leave the brake with a little contact to the drum (the drum should need a little I MEAN LITTLE coaxing to come off it should feel like dragging) then Pull the parking brake about 10 to 15 times

That arm that held on to the star wheel teeth wont allow the star wheel to back in any and it will keep it at that point so that when you pull the lever it will lock the wheels and as it wears the teeth move and the arm locks it in.
