ehh i like the challenger a lot its a GREAT looking car and the LX platform is not bad at all it has some pretty heavy cars on it but its a fairly solid cahsis and i have a feeling that the challenger with the supposed 575 hp crate motor(its somewhat of a rumor but its base engine is the 5.7 hemi with an SRT8 that is either that crate engine or the 6.1 with an even higher performance version that has the crate in it we'll see though)
where do you find 575 hp? and yeah, i like the looks, but i don't judge a car by the looks. 425Horse 6.1 is a good engine, but they can't keep it on the road too well, so i don't like them. There are faster cars with less power. There are faster cars with more power. And literally everything handles better. and it's built on a LC platform. IMO the only thing it has going for it is the looks.
The 575 hp is a rumored mill that dodge has its a crate motor that they may be putting into production in the challenger in limited numbers....A LOT of cars are faster and better handling than a lot of other cars horsepower doesnt always mean anything...in its class the SRT8s put up some good numbers for roadholding with the summer tires on them, it is an LX platform that underpins the whole rear drive car lineup of chryselr and dodge (even the magnum), the 5.7s are killer I have a friend with one with just the big three upgrades (intake headers and exhaust) and it pulls 13.7 down the 1/4 mile that is on par with an S2000 a car that weighs MUCH less and has better aerodynamics(his truck is 6000+lbs[its a ram 1500 single cab] and the S2K weighs in at just over a ton) the 6.1 is even quicker meaning that a car that weighs nearly 5000lbs can pull even lower times down the track. These cars are in all pretty good performers look up thier info.
However if you dont like them thats fine its your preferance. numbers dont lie though they are not bad cars....
as for the LC i dont know what that is the LX is the current platform for the cars but i know that dodge shortend it up for the challenger and maybe named it the LC.
thats what im saying...ive driven them as well...in my opinion they are a little porkey and kinda big ( i would love a magnum though) so not so much fun in the parking lot and not totally my cars either...the SRT8s at least do well in roadholding easily keeping up with the large Mercedes and BMW 7 series that they are close to in size.
