I have a set of PIAA Solitaire 001 driving lights added to my car cause i do a lot of driving in the boonies where there are no streetlights. The on/off switch needs a power supply line & i was wondering what wire I should use for it? Right now I have it onto my Amp turn on lead coming from my radio. I like the fact that is turns off when the car shuts off in case i leave them on but I already have 2 amps running off it & would rather not that the extra juice coming off that lone wire. Any Suggestions?
BV, my venge had [HAD, before i ripped it out with a vengeance] a set of led underglows run from the cigarette lighter wire. Now the didn't do it properly probably, but if you put anything in the lighter, it always blew the fuse.
Could this be because it needed a larger amp fuse than the factore [like 5 amp more] or do you think it was because they tapped the wire just before it plugged into the lighter?
Led underglows pull hardly anything ... I left mine on for three days and the car still started ... I'd check for dirt corrosion in the bottom of the cigarrette lighter ... If it's dirty corroded that will blow the circuit too ...
oh i already checked it. it was painted with overspray. SPRAY PAINT OVERSPRAY. I've cleaned it since. and i mercilessly removed the Led's. Green is not my color. neither is green spray paint. I've still got to reinstall it. no corrosion though.
