So listen, I'm on my way home last night. I'm cruising the highway going about 62mph at 2100rpm on a flat when I let off the gas a lil' bit... When i did, my car started to hold back really bad, and my rpm was spazzing between 1800 and 2100rpm... I gave it a lil' more gas and let off again... It didn't spazz out but it dropped way down to like a thousand... The same thing happened when I was almost to my driveway... I let of going around 40mph and my rpm just when kaput... Anybody know what the culprit might be? I was thinking my wheel bearings and joints cuz it's making the same noise my dad's was in the front end...

Well my trany's in alright shape... Still shifts well at all rpms. I'll prolly need a rebuild by next summer cuz of headers and full exhaust setup. But we'll see cuz they're not even colse to ready to be installed... But you're right, the wheel bearing were just another thing I thought of just b/c my dad had it go wrong w/ his. It just slowed the car down a lot.

i'm currently dealing with a very similar—if not the same—issue with my '95 avenger. is this problem being very sporatic?
i've replaced my TPS, IAC, and PVC valve and have had 3 diff mechanics look at it to no avail. it might be your IAC or TPS however. i'd say check your IAC and TPS and go from there. hopefully, you'll have better luck than i.
keep us update tho, as whatever fixes yours might be the solution i'm looking for
