The best I ever got in my Sebring was about 32 mpg. This was on a trip to Florida. I was surprised at that mileage since I normally got around 25 mpg.

I think I may be getting better mileage because all the roads are flat in Florida, I'm used to the gas mileage in more of a hilly area...   I'm definitely not complaining though, except that I'm leaving tomorrow morning to go back to N.Y. for a week.

od should be on. when the light comes on...not good. in the 2.5...after mods..i've gotten 520 something  miles on one tank..mostly highway..but there was some city..if there was no city, i could have easily gotten at least 560. with my current venge..350-highway.

520 man??  That's hard to swallow that's over thirty.  They were rated at 25.  What mods did you have?  A grappling hook to attach to other cars, so you could cut your engine and coast behind?HuhCheesy
idk, DT. I've gotten pretty close—actually slightly better—once. all interstate driving for a road-trip. I think i got in the neighborhood of 580-600 miles on that tank. i was shocked and amazed too, but i wasn't mad at it.

if u get bad mileage..here's a check off list:
-fuel system clean (lucas)-toxicated system...inefficient combustion
-spark plugs -ineffecient sparks...inefficient combustion
-02 sensors - bad readings...ecm miscalculates
-oil additive - cylinder restorer...one every oil change for a while..then one every so often-build up in the engine from past oil deposits i.e. oil that sits no matter how often u change oil...remember..when u do an oil change..not every bit gets out some stay for a while.

these are the biggest culprits (other than lead-foot syndrome) there are other smaller things that contribute...here are my driving habits..
i kinda got used to the way the traffic lights go in my town..so i predict...and never accelerate more than necessary..im only gonna get there to stop again...i hardly ever go above 2500 rpms....a couple times per tank...u can get up to 69 mph keeping below that limit. better mileage comes with it...here's another hint...
how fast ur going does have something to do with the amount of gas ur using..but here's the real culprit..
say u were driving slow..at about 37 or 38 mph...ur rpms are just below 2K, if u were to speed up, go to 54 mph, you would be burning the same amount of gas per time period, but b/c ur going faster, ur getting better mileage...its really how fast ur engine is spinning..for every revolution, you get six injections ( higher speed to lower rpm = better mileage. thats y cars with more low end power achieve better city mileage. so if u were to build ur engine/modify to perform better at lower rpms. mileage would increase....  a lOT
i'm the same way. i've never been one to stomp the hello outta the gas just to have to stop at the next light. never really understood that mentality  Huh. oh yeah, don't forget: windows down 55mph or under, a/c on greater than 55mph.

gotta love those flat florida roads! better watch out for all the small town speed-traps tho… u don't realize how fast ur going on those flat roads sometimes. fla is one of the only states i've seen that will actually have billboards up warning the next town is a speed-trap, lol.

back in thhe youthful days of my car, I once got between 30 and 35, all highway, upsate NY on the relatively straight NYS throughway.

Now-a-days, though, I get between 12 (yes, once had it around that low) and 17 with city driving (usually average 15) and if i can do highway speeds, see between 22 and 25. 25 is usally a high mark for me now sadly.

I probably should check the spark plugs. call me lazy.

yeah lazy, seems like 25 is a high mark for me too now-a-daze  Cry
course i'm having some issues i'm still trying to sort out tho… that coupled with 144,000 miles and gas mileage tends to go to crap

ive only got 90k on mine and i have looked into everything other than new ignition stuff nothing has worked on this damn car. I cant afford all the overhauls either. but 17 is my top city milage i cant break it and thats trying to keep it BELOW 2500rpm it just doesnt work. basically for every quarter of a tank i get like 60 miles that makes 240 at the BEST i usually get less though.

Sounds like my gauge. Right now I'm at 110 and I'm slightly above 3/4. But only about 20 of those are highway. That good?

Wow.... That's great. But see mine will be like that then all of a sudden drop down to half and only have above 150.. Mind you that my driving habits stay the same.
