has anybody with the 2.5 litre ever have oil getting on the spark plugs?

it happens, it may be as simple as replacing the valve cover gaskets. there is the large gasket for the valve cover and there are small donut gaskets for around the plugs. most of the time it's just the donuts going bad allowing oil out of the valve cover and it eventually pools in the low areas where the plugs are.
