Ok, here's my prob: My passenger side rear speaker is half the time not working, 1/4 the time it's making wierd popping and static noises and the rest it works fine. Nothing is shorting out on anything, i've checked. Is it time for a new speaker?
it could also be wiring problems, if there is crossing wires like power and signal lines crossing, hoestly though it sounds like the wiring is bad(NOT speaker)!!! check the surround to look for cracks and the place wehre you put the speaker wires, if its a blown speaker it will make noise though so i highly doubt that. it really sounds like some kind of bad wiring or a bad connection. trace the lines and look.
the only thing i can think of is if its got a messed up voice coil thats it though still it should continuously make noise, check your grounds as well there can be interference with them if there is moisture gathered at your ground.
Uhh.. ok, i just untaped every wire that leads to my amp, but... in doing so, when i unplugged my amp.. the stock amp.. the music still played, is this wierd? or is this supposed to happen, isn't it supposed to go: cd player -> amp -> speakers?
uhhhhh thats not good.....someone wired the head unit to the speakers somewhere too that is probably the issue, the only way for that to happen is if there is signal getting to a spaker and a power supply since hear uits make both someone is hooked up wrong. if the amp is out then that is the only explination.
want to know who's to blame? my uncle! Well if anyone has a diagram or something or instructions on how to wire my cd player to my amp, let me know. Half the wires on the amp connectors are all cut anyways. But for some reason, my speaker started working but it's coming from the power of my cd player itself.
.....ok whats this about a factory infinity amp? is this an aftermarket system or stock, i can help with both i have done numerous stereo instls i am in the middle of fixing mine and helping a friend instal his so whats the whole story?
He has the factory infinity amp, the deck is wired into the factory wiring via the plugs you get that you wired the deck to that plug directly into the factory wiring. Everything is connected properly on the deck end, soldered and heat shrinked. Nothing has ever been done to the factory amp as far as cutting wires or modifying or anything like that.
