Well first off I am new here, my names Patrick, and I am switching from J-body's to avengers.I just bought a 1995 avenger 2.5 V6 auto that needs some work. First off when the key is turned on the fuel pump doesnt kick on,the previous owners said they had it running once by playing with the relays and managed to get it to fire, but nothing after that.I am going to replace the fuel pump relay, but I dont know what one it is. can someone tell me what each relay is on the firewall? there are 4 relays there. Thanks in advanced.. -Patrick
thats great guys thanks hopefully the relay does the job.. Ill be picking up the relay tomorrow and putting it in..ive always wanted a avenger but never found one, this ones a keeper thats for sure...thanks again and im sure ill have more questions, ive been a j-body guy for a while but i needed a change and this was a great deal....
Well first off I think that napa gave me the wrong relay because it only has 4 prongs, and it only fits the ATX relay slot.Either way the fuel pump still doesnt kick on,does anyone know where to get all 4 of the relays online anywhere so I know i can get the right ones. I am going to replace the ASD relay aswell, and the local NAPA doesnt carry them..Anyone with any info it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.. -Patrick
i was about to make a post with my question, kinda looks like the problem what i have.... although i think it could be ignition switch going bad.
here is the deal: my car would die in a middle of driving. try to start it up, i don't get fuel pump noise, no check engine/amp lights. starter cracks but engine doesn't fire up. after maybe letting car sit for 15-20mins, it starts up with out a problem (usually). this happened to me for the 5th time
could the relays overheat and mess up or something? or is possibly my ignition switch going bad?
quick question, from atop of my head... on the positive terminal there are 2 bundles of wires, does one of those bundles (2 white wires) go to the Relays?
