I am hoping someone can help me troubleshoot my A/C problem. Here's the story.
- The compressor clutch is not engaging, but all of the other A/C functions seem to work. (condenser fan turns on, etc.)
- The clutch will engage when I jump power at the relay. Therefore the relay is not getting signal to turn on.
- I have 12v to the coil side of the relay. There is some continuity on the ground side of the coil but resistance is ~32kohm.
- I jumped the high/low pressure switch and the clutch didn't engage.
- The refrigerant temp switch checks out OK per the fact service manual.
I am really running out of ideas here. I am starting to think it might be the PCM. According to the wiring diagrams the PCM is the only other thing that could keep the relay from getting a signal to engage the clutch.
Does anyone know if there are any other inputs to the PCM that help it make a decision to engage the compressor clutch?
Thanks,
Dave
