sunroof leaking
« on: June 01, 2007, 04:03:32 AM »

Ok so its been raining for a couple of day now and tonight i just noticed that their is some water in the track by the sunroof.  Its not coming inside yet, but its by the  track around the roof.  I got a couple of pictures.

Do you know if they sell gasket for the sunroof?  I have no other idea what it would be besides the gasket.

Any ideas?

I have heard about a lot of sunroof problems lately...

There are drain tubes to drain off what gets in there, so you don't have too much to worry about yet.

As for replacing the gasket, first place I would look is O'Reilly's.

Also try tightening it.. 4 torque tip screws. loosen it then fit it better/tighter... and tighten them back up.

I had a leaking sunroof and alot of wind noise. Tightening it fixed the problem.

I would look at the drain tubes, and make sure they are clear. I had a leaky sunroof because the drains were clogged. I had the dealership clean them out for free, so I don't know how to do it exactly.

Im going to watch it for a couple of day now, but it has not rained at all.

Does anyone know how to check to see if those drain tubes are blocked or not?  and where do they even drain to?

as for checking the roof with no rain, if there is a do-it-yourself drive through car wash area, you could use the high pressure water guns.
