Gasoline = CEL??

My CEL turned off when I put gas in it in the city when I left... when I got home I put gas in it before work this morning from the local gas station, and the CEL turned back on...

I haven't done the key dance but I'm positive it's O2 Sensor(s)....

Could anything in the gas trigger this? Water? Octane level?

I heard a buddy of mine claim Ethanol caused CEL on his 4G eclipse. First time I ever heard anything about it, and don't know if there's any merit to it.

He said that when he filled up with 100% pure it went away but he filled up near his house (ethanol) and it had problems. Took him about a month to realize what was causing it.

I know that Shell now uses the 10% Ethanol mix however, i've not had any problems with it. I run Shell in both my truck [93 Dakota 239] and my Avenger [97 ES 5spd 420A DOHC 16 Valve.... Black with leather].

I took it off then put it back on.. click click.. should be on right and CEL is still on.

right... might try replacing the cap then, it might have a leak.

Or you could get the code pulled and find out what the problem is. Grin
