quality work, but i need to know , and this always bothered me with pimp my ride and other shows..... why put tv's in the trunk? do you sit behind the car and watch tv? maybe it scores points for car shows, but if they ever judged them with functionality in mind then it would never happen.... explain?Huh

its all for show.....why do people do anything to cars?

why do people pump as many horsepower mods into an engine?....technically thats not functional, how much faster could do you need to drive if all a car is for is transit?

why even put a tv in ACTUAL viewing area?  people went years using books and travel games.

why put huge rims on a car? how is that functional?

why paint my car?  there was nothing wrong with the paint before...thats not very functional

why use designer fabric in the car?  That would seem frivalous (sp?)

I don't mean it to be bitchy (its not intended that way), I understand exactly what you're saying  Grin I just did the same thing at a car show last year, I saw tvs in the trunk and asked my husband....why the hell would you need them in the trunk.  I did it because I had them laying around and it seemed like a nice accent at a show.  I don't expect everyone to like it, to each there own. Smiley  But when you think about it, unless it gives you better gas mileage; is there ever any REAL functional mod?  Undecided

yeah it does score points at shows. around here for every screen you have its 2 points added. for every inch of wire shown its 1 point off. and the list goes on and on

whats up everyone?  how bout a little update.  I spent the last 2 months completing as much of the interior of the car as I could.  Long ways to go, but I figured I would continue the painted/coach fabric theme on the inside to match my trunk....

As usual I did all the work myself.... My husband and other fellow club members guided me with any questions I had, but it was very similar to all the work I did last year to the trunk.  First I gutted all of the interior, then I sanded everything, then I primered,  I sanded some more Undecided, I primered again Undecided, and a final sanding Angry.....from there the paint and clear was done by Chad from my club.  Then I reinstalled everything carefully.  There is still some touches that need to be done and hopefully I'll be getting some nice seats soon.....heres some pics to snack on. Grin

The poopy part was I did all this work for our cinco de mayo show, which is always the "whats everyone been working on this winter" break out show, but it was a damn monsoon so low turn out. Embarrassed

pics are uploading.....

here I am mixing featherfill, my arms got tired from shaking the can, so I rolled it for a while Undecided

Here I was, taping some of the parts down to keep them from blowing away when I sprayed.

after the final coat of primer.....

here's some install pics

then a my husband went and threw some striping on the trunk piece to break up the solid color back there......

So when can I drop my car off to get my interior done?? LOL

That looks really good.  I wish I had the patients to pull everything out and take the care to do it right.  There's only a few pieces on my interior that have any painting and I was sick of doing it almost as soon as I started!!

Mod List.  Um WAY too many to fit on here.  But the engine can handle about 800HP

I got sick of it rather quickly....you're from wisconson, do it during the winter like I did.....My husband was working on another club members car, so while he did that every weekend I brought a few pieces to work on.  I did it little by little, but I wasn't too impatient Lips sealed because I couldn't take the car out anyway.   I still took it right up to the deadline and I started doing this way back in the middle of february.   Some of it is painted, the doors and dash are vinyl so rather than fiberglass, and bondo, I wanted to keep a semi factory look so I bought some SEM vinyl paint.  Thats stuff sucks too....

I'll probably pay to have it done.  I can't stand painting.  I need a completely revamped interior anyway.  My seat leather is beat to hell.  But the car will be out for winter for some more engine work so who knows......

but i do have to point out that all that work is good but your cupholder still does not work Grin
unfortunately I never had all the pieces for it.  Hasn't worked since the day I bought it  Undecided

Mine didn't either. lol
thats cool, cup holders are overrated anyway Cheesy
Nah, just gotta find the use for them that suits you.
is there ever any REAL functional mod?  Undecided
lol. Yeah, i modified my cupholder to work.

Very nice work btw. What shade of purple is that or do you have a color code available?
Also, what did you mean specifically when you said that the SEM sucks?

Its house of kolor.....paint code is BC10 with additional miniflake added....here is a couple pics in the sun.... Grin

you can see the flake, but my car is in the background, this was a pic of one of our club members cars....its his little beater while he works on his 60 impala.....

as far as SEM sucking......its alot of prep.  If you don't really take your time and follow directions you'll get reactions in the paint when you spray it.  the first test piece I did had fish eye and crackled on me.....but I slowed down and really prepped the heck out of it and let every stage properly dry and I got good results....

two and a half months with no income means I have to see my funding options.  Maybe a Saturday Sunday pass for 25 bucks.  I'm assuming you're showing again this year?

I hear that.  We didn't go last year because everyone in the club was in your boat.  Plus everyone was feeling like they're asking for more money and its really not worth the hassle.  Gonna give it one last try this year. Embarrassed Undecided
