I love that his car looks stock and is dirty in the engine bay.   Grin

the secret for a perpetual dirty engine bay
1 do a experimental engine swap
2 have a mysterious oil leak on the engine which you can't find the source after searching for months
3 have no time to clean because you have plenty to do mechanically because of the swap like splitting a flexplate in half in january by a temperature of minus 25 and dropping the transmission in a garage with a cement floor heated just a few degres above the freezing point
4 put the car under a tarp and let it sit under 3 to 6 feet of snow for 5 months

when I opened the hood last week I was horrified
almost every aluminium part was covered with the typical thick dust that aluminium makes when it rust
and the battery poles were covered with 1 inch thick of dried acid crust

and I had no time to clean either because I had a transmission to fix which I did and which include spilling tranny fuild everywhere

my philosophy tirgh now is : Show me  clean engine bay and I will show you a car owner who don't do much heavy mechanics  Sad

saturday I have more stuff to do including an engine and battery wash if I have time
I have to change the 2 battery connector also

I wasn't dogging on it, I think its great, now I don't feel bad if mine is dirty.

Its not, because I have no time or money right now for heavy mechanical work.   Grin
