Well like mcgyvr said, it needs a resonator.  I had them taken out cause I listened to somebody that didn't know.
I had one put back in and it helped a lot but obviosly there is still some rasp there.

Sounds like you've got exhaust leaks too.

With a decent resonator it should NOT sound like that
Even with the stock muffler system and a flowmaster welded on it should not sound like that.

Its possible you have exhaust leaks, and the exhaust shop might not have put a resonator back in, or a crappy one.  I don't know...

That exhaust is about 6 or 7 years old.

try to beat that sound    Grin
http://www.myspace.com/alain95i4
go to videos

stock downpipe modified to be longer
no cat instead it's a section of 2.5 inch " test pipe "    Roll Eyes
from the " test pipe " it goes to 3 inch and into a small resonator
and from the resonator it goes to a glass pack name unknowned

I bought and modified DaveW old system from way way back when there was no commercial catback for our cars

thats sounds pretty damn good Wink I'd like to upload a vid of my exhaust too but I dont have any recording devices  Angry most people who ride with me or have driven my car think its sweet while others say it sounds like a dirt bike. there are times when it bothers me like when I'm accelerating slowly it'll rap for a few seconds(2200-2400) then go back to the drone, when it raps at the higher rpm and I can hear the engine roaring I like that, also when I downshift it rumbles and backfires a couple times
