ban pass box?

well for starters i have a 98 dodge avenger and i just got a ban pass box and 2 12in type e white subs for $50 bucks and well the question is i an currently running 2 10in kentwood earthquake subs in a non ported box and in running a kentwood 700 watt amp and like i said i picked the other subs up cheep do i put them in w/ the kentwood amp or i have a versonic 2000 watt amp. do i run the kentwood or the versonic w/ the ban pass box and witch way do i face the ban pass box? i see people w/ them facing the driver and sum w/ them facing the rear help and i will try and Pict some pictures tomorrow and give a visual comperision. thanks and all advice would be nice

#1 it's a BAND pass box ...
#2 What are the new subs RATED at Huh That would determine what amp to run...
#3 Direction it depends on what frequency the box is set for and what type of music you listen too... Try it one way ,then turn it around to see what sounds best to you

# 1 yea w/ the plexy glass and recessed sub and the ports and stuff
# 2 subs are rated at 1200 watts

Well you answered most of the questions yourself
IF the subs are rated at 1200 watts each thenyou can run the 2000 watt amp
Then try it both directions forward and rear facing

Well besides the obvious what direction do i face the box its kinda a pain in the ass to remove it if its not right ya kinda know what I'm getting at?

I had a single bandpass box with a fozgate p2.  It fired best with the ports pointed to the back.  Ur welcome    Wink

Plexy-glass to the back = louder, more kick

Plexy-glass to the front = smoother

Make sure the port(s) can breathe.

Band pass boxes are sweet for High bass Metal.. ie: Korn, Linkin Park, Fear Factory, etc...

heres a picture of the box and i decided to run the keentwood 700wt anp and as soon as i started to fine tune it to the new box i blew a channel    yea im kinna pissed. Looks like im gonna have to run the big dowg.

band pass boxes are for hatchbacks.... go with something that has no ports

You can have ports. Ports are good sometimes,

If you went from your band pass box to a ported box ( that is close to specs for your subs) you would notice a huge difference in sound quality. Wont be as loud.. but loud doesn't mean quality.

yea gotta tell ya I relly dont like the sound so its gotta go. I think its warn enughf in M.I now i can put the solo barex kikker comp L,7s in and relly make sum noise

Hmmm thats strange I have ports and can hit 159 DB on one sub ...guess I better remove my ports  Roll Eyes
