messy wires can make nasty sound be careful to keep signal and power lines UNCROSSED and at best away from each other. also 15s, 12s, 10, hell even 8s can all sound like crap or can all sound wonderful like i said before its all about the set up. my friend had a POS amp with a POS (paper surround) 15 that sounded like total sh*t i have 2 12s that make more bass than his 15 could ever do with a fairly weak amp and like dave said they sound gooood
exactly i underpowered my 12s severely since i cant afford a good mono block and still did better than the 15 wich had "more" power( though i doubt that his amp made anything close to 500 watts more like 150)
More power doesnt mean anything, you're definitely right. Matching the sub with the amp... and matching the box size to the sub, if your box is to big/small it will sound like crap, whereas if it's the right setup that same sub could be twice as loud/sound twice as good. When I bought my 15's they were in a sealed box that totaled 1.6 cubic feet, each speaker is recommended to have 3.5 c.f. 1 sounds better than both of them ever did.
well power does mean something if you are actually making that power i have a amp rated at 800 watts made by some lousy german company and well it SUCKS my step dad has a 500 watt jl audio that killlllllllls mine though i have better subs
I didnt mean that power doesnt mean anything... just that it's more or less the setup, you can have all the power you want in a setup that's all wrong and it wont do anything. My bad on the last post.
