Hey guys, I have a 96 avenger es and I decided to drop it and add 18's. I bought eibach springs with tokico blues, it gave me 1.8 inch drop and I bought 18 inch excels. When i go over a bump on the road or a dip at like say over 40 miles an hour my tire rubs. I understand the car is dropped but I thought tokico blues along with the eibach (mid level I believe sport line?) springs there wouldn't be so much tire rub. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
with proper alignment and not too wide tires you shouldn't get any rub with a drop like that should you? just wondering as i am lookin to do pretty much the same thing by this summer—just wanna know what i may be getting into.

well if the width+size are too large and offset is not right u might have issues with clearance for front wheels. we already dont have a great turning radius, incorrect size wheels+tires jeopardize your success and comfort
but i've seen people with 18s on their avengers, i wanted to get some too but my bud told me i would hate the handling, plus they will be heavy and reduce your HP
Not to mention it reduces your breaking power. In retrospect I should have stayed with the stock 16's or go 17 not 18. I have my 18's with a drop for about 2 years now and all it's good for is the looks. I agree although I don't have a camber kit the handling isn't the same as with the 16's, especially on the highway I'm not sure of the exact specs on my tires but I'll check it and let you guys know. BTW- Rolling the fenders will just cause paint to start cracking.

i was afraid of that. kinda thought that could be a prob. then again Ivan is prob rite in that if you do it rite you shouldn't. donno, don't have any exp with that. my question about it all is; is rubbing a major prob when lowering the avenger or is that just somthing to worry about if your tire/rim size is larger than stock?
