My father in law is trying to figure out why his wife's avenger is bucking. He had code for misfire in cylinder 2. He's changed the coil pack, plugs, wires, all that excrement. We are going to try a new injector. Do all years avenger use the same injectors? This is the 420a. I've seen some on ebay for a 95 but don't know if it will fit since hers is a 97. If that doesn't work I told him it was probably in the wiring (cps, asd relay, short, etc). Any help is appreciated.
When was the timing belt changed? If it hasn't been or if it was done real recently, it might be off or skipped a tooth. My car threw a 3 cylinder misfire, and it was a timing issue. Has anything been done to it recently?

Mod List. Um WAY too many to fit on here. But the engine can handle about 800HP
I've heard of that happening. But whats important to know is that a water pump that is very old or any worn out pulley can cause enough slack to allow that to happen. When I replaced the pump on my v6 (I know, its different, but the principles are the same) I didn't even have to remove the tensioner. Do you have an problems with leaking coolant?
It's a 5 speed. The timing belt and valve seals have been changed sometime within the last 6-8 months. The "bucking" is more so at lower rpms and in a normal driving manner. He told me it acts as though it wants to stall. He also said at higher rpms it doesn't do it. I thought at first it was tps or iac. I really don't know what it is now. Never really fooled with avengers much. My 96 neon done this and after changing two sensors that were bad it still didn't fix it. It ended up being a short in the electrical system.
Hey Nykon, remember that Carbon spray i was talking about? I got some yesterday and sprayed it in there and i can actually tell a difference. It's smoother on the acceleration and it does it better. Now this may not be his problem (carbon build up) but if it helped me..................
