V8 swaps take time. we were merely filling in that time and keeping people that might have been ONLY coming to Asog for the V8 swap, entertained until the guy finished his build. Several of the more active members (myself included) tried contacting him after he stopped posting. This was WELL before it started getting "whored up". For all we know, he could have just been using Asog as a reference and had no real intentions on enriching the Avenger community other than to gloat about dropping a 305 into an Avenger. For all we know, he could be dead.

The V8 thread should've been left alone.  Aside from that, it's not big thing to me.

A topic should be about the topic and the poster getting an answer..thats it..
Not 2-3 guys talking about other things. Thats what PM's/phones/IM are for.
I'll hang around for a while with hopes it will change but I want the origional ASOG back.

Its like a few of you guys have nothing better to do in life that to try and fill posts with as much chatter as you can.

Younger ASOG members say- "ASOG is strick"
Younger ASOG members say- "lets form ASEC.."
---1 year later-----
ASEC members say-"ASEC is too lax, lets put some rules on the technical forums."
Younger ASOG members say-"ASOG is too strict lets just trash it..screw Jill/Dave, lets make it a home for postwhorers/those who just need to post something.(who cares if it has anything to do with the origional post.I just want to see my name in every post on this board..)"

Its a total ironic flip flop.. and this place went the totally wrong way.

IMO tech forums should be just that..and only that
general discussion is where you can talk/postwhore about whatever you want..and thats fine, just keep it in the general discussion.

Not going to happen.. The ASOG we all enjoyed back in the day, is gone.. we were in the right place, at the right time, and everything worked (mostly) to that effect.  Jill and I as well as the admins worked our asses off so that the community as a whole had a great time as shows like carlisle.. hyped it up, made things happen.  I have no desire nor time to do it again.  No one wants to step up to the plate and have their kick at the can, yet some are more vocal than others.. it's easy to whine if you get my drift.


yes.. heavy handed moderation.. that's the key.. 


We know who the post whores are... and a few have been warned.

Some need to be more mindful of what and where they are posting.. but again.. it's a small community here again.. nothing like the 3000 active posters and 500~1000 posts a day the old ASOG used to handle.. back then I had to be overly strict or else things would (and did) go spirialing out of control rather quickly. at ~58 posts a day.. it's not needed.

You opinion is noted..

Some have delusions of grandeur that are never going to happen again, not here anyway.. the car has been played.. if there was a mod, chances are it has been done to the cars.. for some.. everything old is new again, and we offer advice where needed.

but don't be the hater.. i'm just about done with my adventure of flipping houses and will have some free time on my hands shortly.. might have more time for this place again

oh and DBjr.. relax.. btw.. when can I expect some $ for those scsi drives   don't think I forgot.

Dave pretty much summed it up except for one thing.

Everyone I know here, pretty much love Dave and Jill for devoting the few precious moments that they have right now, to get a site up that isn't centered around flaming everyone.

No one wants to trash Dave and Jill, and if Dave or Jill felt trashed, they told the people to chill a little.  We're not going to go all Heinrich Himmler on people just because, one member that used to be around all the time came back to check in and doesn't like it.

Everyone else seems too.

Dave and Jill, you guys are great, and if I hit it big on the lottery (As soon as I start playing it) you guys are getting some dough.

admins and mods PLEASE tell me, didnt i try to start a bullshit thread just to say what ever cause i think i did and to my understanding noone posted in after one week SO i think that answers all. and mcgyvr, I LOVE DAVE AND JILL SO DONT EVER TRY TO PUT WORDS IN ANYONES MOUTH ABOUT "screw dave and jill" cause i think everyone here backs me up on that one
