I agree, and I'm one of the culprits, though I have cut back. And I didn't post whore it up in the V8 because it was such a good thing. I don't want to come across as a power tripping Mod, so I don't delete everyone's posts. I did in one thread because EVERYONE asked for it. Literally. It's a younger crowd over here, I'm guessing the median age is 19. I'm not even 30 and I'm one of the "Old Guys" It's more lax here than ASEC.

The funny part is that asec used to be the lax forum. It was started because this place was too strict for "post whorers" This place was strictly business. Now its switched..
darktengu/any other mods I'd suggest you start deleting/warning people or this place will go further into the dumps.
yeah, its a pretty lively place as far as I see it. the posts do stay on topic until a solution is found. then its whatever. if u have an issue and you do a search, you'll find the help u need, and that there are people on the other end posting help..not robots. I've learnt a lot and what I dont know, its by choice, the things u usually cherish are the ones u enjoy learning. there are ppl who know a lot. there are ppl who jerk around, but when its time to be serious, its done as such. if this place were to be all technical and u cant make a joke about something u think would be funny, i honestly would be here a lot less. if anything this is a way for new owners to feel welcome....and Dt cant really be blamed for his actions...in a way cuz it was after I joined that he loosened up.
i see your point mcgyver. i also see the points of all who are "defending" the antics that go on here. it just makes ppl feel more welcome. problems get resolved, and we have fun doing it. i do feel, sometimes, the topic switch gets a little ridiculous but for the most part it's really not that bad, imo. feel free to enlighten us all on solutions whenever possible, tho. i personally always welcome knowledge and enlightenment. i think Shiano stated it best, b/c if this place was like what i hear asec is like, i'd not have been here for long (and i didn't say that to say one is better than the other, b/c that's all about personal tastes. i really can't say if i'd like asec b/c i've never really been there, just haven't heard much good about it is all). i feel welcome here, and i'm far from a mechanic… but no one has flamed me for my ignorance either.

This place is fun. I've been on ASEC and my threads get deleted because one of the Mods there ripped me off and the second I post it up (not even a flaming just a warning) It gets deleted. As long as the members don't have a problem with the topics then I don't either. I'm a mod because I care about this place and the people in it. Yeah it would be nice to stay on topic more but if 90% of the ACTIVE users are OK with it then I'm not going to become a dictator over it. Yeah the original ASOG was very strict, no swearing, no flaming, stay on topic. And ASEC came out of it. We're still not like ASEC. Last time I was there, there was a Porn section. Not going to find that kind of thing here. There's a lot more flaming on ASEC, again something we don't do. There's no need for it. Someone makes a mistake we correct it and move on.
"How do I change my brakes?" is not responded to with 30 people screaming USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION, 10 people calling them an idiot, and not one answering his question.

....i think porn is everywhere cept here...i'd personally like to keep it this way...there are other great suggestions like the car section that I'm waiting for. that way u can send links to friends "promoting the site" they can tell they're friends if they have similar cars...and possibly building the community.

You said it better than I could. I like this place the way it is as well. Everyone gets along, no bitching or crying like on the other site. While off topic posts can be distracting, as long as the question gets answered, then who cares, right?
