Yeah, 19's would fit http://club3g.com/forum/showthread.php?t=87142 but I'd be riding on sidewalls that would be way to thin.

The reason I mentioned just getting 18's was because of the ride quality concerns but I'm afraid Todd is right about that not making much of a difference on it's own.  And everything I've ever read about any lowered vehicle is that the ride becomes harsher and with the frost heaves and pot holes we've got around here I'm a little worried about it being too rough for my taste.  And I know it's a sporty car, but it looks like it should ride a little more on the luxury side, which is what I want to keep.  I wanted to lower the Avenger, but in time I got used to the gap and it didn't bother me anymore.  Maybe the same will hold true until then, but for now I just have to keep researching and saving up.

BTW: In my searching for possible 18's I found a handy tire size calculator http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.htmlMaybe sticky material?

yeah, if you want a more luxury style ride quality, you might want to research getting some springs/suspension to help with that. i donno if there are any out there for that, but it's worth the research i guess. but unfortunately with the sporty cars, larger sidewalls alone prob will not be enuff to give you that.

thanks for the link… that will be handy for ppl here.

Then I'd have to get 16" wheels to keep the speedometer accurate.  At present, I'm saving up for my suspension setup which should take care of everything.  Ebiach Pro-kit springs and KYB AGX adjustable shocks.

a camber kit is used when you lower your car because the lower springs pitch the tires off on a negative camber.  If you look at the tires from the rear of the car, the bottoms would be pointing away from the car. The correcting kit pushes the mounting points of the suspension farther out than stock to re-align the camber back to factory specs so the bottoms are flush with the ground.  Just adding larger wheels will not tilt them at an angle, but def. get the alignment.

When you swapped the rims and tires....did you get an alignment? Have it checked, might explain the noise.

I've been gone a little while but yes all problems are corrected except the 4X4 look.  I'm having sever second guesses about modding this car.  If I mess something up or don't like the mods I'm gonna be stuck with them a long time because it will take at least 4 more years to pay off the loan and i'd hate to sell it as soon as I pay it off.

I wish i could afford to have a car i could just mod or do whatever to.  it would solve so many doubts in my mind.
