well about a week ago my dash lights, tail lights, license plate lights, and parking lights all stopped working. Headlights, brake lights, and dome lights still work.
I checked all fuses visually and with a test light. I thought it was the switch on the collum so i bought a new one, but that wasn't the problem. I did notice when i was testing the wire voltage that one wire, a greeen and white one, was only providing 2v with the ignition on run.
From my looking at the wiring diagram it looks to be the tail light relay.
Any comments on if that sounds like it, any thing else to test, and where that relay may be would be appreciated.

Well I doubt it's the relay that has nothing to do with the dash lights ... you did check the fuses under the hood??? I'm assuming turn signals are out it's the second fuse down ... Did you install anything recently gauge faces ect
are you saying that the plug that goes into the headlight switch may be shorted?
I've never heard of that happening before, but i guess if you think its possible i'll give it a shot.
And if you saying my wires on my stereo are shorted out i assure you their not. I soldered the wires then crimped a butt connector ontop. Then taped and zip tied everything together. I've already pulled the stereo out and checked to make sure all the connections were fine, and they were.
I also disconnected the harness from the stereo and checked the voltage, nothing.
I've elimated anything having to do with the head unit, as i stated earlier. You just assumed i was to ignorant to correctly troubleshoot it.

u most likely have a short. u may have overloaded when u were doing some of the wiring(no offense ive done it too).
here's what you can do. run an alternate wire from ur fog/parking lights up front, to the tails. i forgot what color exactly, i could go look and tell u but i dont have my car here with me. if there is a short, ur battery will run low eventually. leaving it parked overnight will kill ur battery. you would have to do some splicing btw. as for finding the exact location of the short..ask bad venge. n btw. this wire could be temporary for solving ur problem.
Well I doubt it's the relay that has nothing to do with the dash lights ...
also, according to my wiring diagram this statement is incorrect.
the red and white wire that comes out of the relay is fused. then changes to green and white. after that it goes to the dash lights as well as all the marker, license plate, and tail lights.

Like I said CUT the wire ... You'll have to resplice it after the test ... IF the 2volts jumps to 12 volts from the relay then you have a short downline pulling the voltage down (likely)if it stays at 2volts then you have to see what supplies it , supply 12 volts only 2v out try a new relay ... the dash lights are supplied off the dimmer switch dunno if the dimmer could be pulling it down or not ...
If your saying the green and white wire, it goes to the relay from the headlight switch. So i need to know where the relay is to jump the wire. I cant find it.
I am looking for someone to tell me where the relay is so i can test the relay and the resistance that is being created by the green and white wire.
