Some big numbers!!! Impressive Athena with 206k. Certainly we have great products, not to mention taste!
I think it simply boils down to how you take care of your steed. regular fluid changes... all fluids... trans, brake, steering, coolant/antifreeze.... MOBIL1 ***Not an advertisement*** My compression in the 2.5L has barely dropped 2% since purchased @ 29,000 miles.
I mean excrement, in Europe, similar if not the exact same vehicles, are turning the dials to 400k, 500k and more and i have a theory on why us Americans are happy to see to a mere 200,000.
Assuming that fact everyone knows we are the most wasteful society on the planet, we simply are not diligent on upkeep. In Europe governments REQUIRE annual physical inspections of vehicles... mostly due to the Autobahn's limitless playground I would think. I have read and have heard such strictness as if there is any hole in a body panel due to rust, it must be repaired in order to pass. Mechanical portions do not allow leaks of any kind and regular maintenance is normal.
I'm speaking from what I have read and have been told as I have not personally had the joy of driving on the "wrong side" of the road at 180MPH (actually the Bahn is formatted like our roads)... but with manners... which brings me to another issue I'd like to rant about...
WHY DO PEOPLE INSIST ON DRIVING SLOW OR EVEN CRUISING IN THE LEFT (Fast or passing) LANE??? I love the US, don't get me wrong, but we have some complete numb skulls that do not think before doing anything... SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT! Please! Autobahn rule UNO, use of the left lane is reserved for passing ONLY... if an officer witnesses someone cruising in the left lane, NOT OVERTAKING ANOTHER VEHICLE, that someone will likely be stopped and ticketed. Not only is this obviously dangerous to be slow in the fast lane, but it is simple driver courtesy to us born with lead right feet and enjoy having that lead firmly in the air cleaner for extended periods of time!
Ok, I had to get that out since tonight i nearly drove THROUGH a dumbass drunk lumbering along in the left lane... I close on him so fast I nearly had no time to react... fortunately for them I am VERY good behind the wheel, and happen to drive our very user friendly and forgiving LXi
