« on: February 28, 2007, 04:34:09 AM »

So this is what I'm thinking , I hate the way my head unit is put. It is just to low and I wish It was higher. well I guess time to stop wishing and do something about it. I'm wanting to move the CD player up and the HVAC down. first..........has anyone done this and sec. is it possible.

Anything is possible with time and enough fibreglass.  Another thing you might consider is doing the Eclipse console swap.  It changes the angle and makes it much easier to see and get to.

first off I knew that was going to be the first awnser I would get " anything is possible " , also yes I was looking at the eclipse console . I really dont mind the one I got I just wanna fab the one I got. But I must say the eclipse console does have that nice downward swoop that looks really nice and smooth......just not sure if I really wanna do a console swap. I helped with one once not sure if i wanna do another one soon.

I am sure it is possible and possibly pretty easy.  I know some people have relocated their HVAC controls over to the left side of the dash over where your power mirror and foglight controls are.  I would think that moving the HVAC down and building a new bracket for the stereo up top would be fairly easy compared to moving everything to the other side of the dash.

Unfortunately the relocation will require the vent cables to be extended... several times I have used lawn mower cables to extend these types of things

I will keep that in mind.  Myself I have only did one thing with relocating. When I had my corsica I relocated the CD player where the cup holders where in the passenger seat. Which was not to bad , never did get finish with the whole project. I was going to be fitting a screen where the CD player use to be. sumthing like this

I've seen both done so it's definitely possible.

Just caught this topic..

Fabbed up that corsica interior pretty nicely though. Wink I had a problem in my Beretta with my screen not being able to tilt all the way back for a good angle to see it. Just stayed flat..

But I want to do in my Sebring what you did with the built-in monitor... 6.5" or 7" should be able to be fabbed into the factory woodgrain bezel with a little bit of work.
