Will the trunk lid parts from a '97 fit on a '96 with no modification of any kind? I want to convert my rear-end to a '97 with the tag on the bumper, but I need to know if I can do the trunk too without replacing the taillights.
you dont NEED the bumper, minor modifications is all you will need to use it. french a section for the plate to fit in the bumper, this way you can place it antwhere you want, or angle it, etc. for the more custom look. it comes down to doin it the cheaper custom way or just spendin the money for a new bumper. dont really matter tho cause its not my car so good luck either way
Thanks guys, but that was the plan - to replace the rear bumper. I don't want to modify my '96 bumper. Replace the rear bumper, replace the trunk lid parts, rewire the tag lights, and then I will have a complete outside conversion.
BTW, BadVenge have you done anymore searching for something to the rear-end? instead of a bodykit rear bumper. I have something in mind but not sure if it will work though or look good.
I'd like to do dual exhaust through the bumper without it looking cheezy or ricey.
That would look abit awkward IMO. The tips would be position too high.
I was thinking about cutting another slot opposite to the one on the left side for the tips for a dual exhaust setup.. but theres no point. I should have the TC rear in the spring.

naw. kinda angle it downward toward the ground but at an angle out the rear. kinda in the corners but keep it flush with the bumper. just have to make sure it NEVER moves and doesn't melt the bumper.
Sounds to me like you guys have pics in your head that only you can invision, but remember the harder exhaust mods are in the front of the car, don't forget we V6 guys still want headers!

I have a '99, and in my opinion i rather have the old style bumper and trunk, cause to me when i get to adding a body kit, the rear bumper will be clean, no plate in the middle of it. Just my opinion, but if you still go that route, i would trade ya trunks and bumpers
We'd have to swap 1 part of the trunk lid & the whole rear bumper. I want my tag on my bumper and I want the truck lid smooth between the tail lights. I found someone who makes custom tail lights at ASEC, an dwhen I get those taken car of my whole rear-end will be replaced. I've already done the front.
However,.... BadVenge, if you're out there somewhere.... you have a carbon fiber trunk lid, can you tell me how much does it weighs in comparison to the stock one?
