I was wondering how all you ASOG guys feel about premium gass is it worth the 10 cents more or even super do you guys think its worth it or do you find it doesnt make a difference?
I use plus and my car seems to get a bit better mileage, its only $1 more a tank aprox... Regular works just fine though, unless you are boosted then you will want the higher octane.
I agree with 93 being worth the money, i always see a noticeable increase in mileage compared to 87, so no matter what people tell me i have the results that it pays for itself. and plus its cleaner.

same here.

IF YOU OWN A 2G ECLIPSE, YOU MUST RUN PREMIUM. Factory requirement regardless of turbo.
Other than that, solely at your discretion. Get a CAI. You'll notice an increase.
i think all vehicles manuals suggests using the highest octane gas in order to get the mileage that's on the sticker, rite?
also, does the better gas mileage out way the extra cost of the gas itself? just curious as it seems as tho it all comes out in the wash.

some cars can only get their optimum efficiency on 91+. all other cars have their set "acceptable" (factory) eff. at 87-89 octane. If you're car *requires* 91+ it will say "Premium Unleaded Only" in the location where it tells you what fuel to use (dash, cluster, or fuel door). Eclipses are set up slightly different and ignite at a different spot in rotation of the piston than Avengers do (the 420A DOHC). Most of your turbo'ed vehicles use 91+ from the factory (all that i've ever seen actually) unless they are diesel. Diesel's another ball game entirely.
your call.
run two or three tanks of 91+ and RECORD your mileage when you fill up, when you re-fill, and when you put the next tank of 87 octane in there. you should have these mileages wrote down: 1a Starting fill up 2a Next fill up 3a Next fill up (optional but i would do it) 4a Fill up on 87 octane.
Then RECORD these mileages: 1b 87 Octane Starting fill up (should be exactly the same as 4a) 2b Next fill up 3b Next fill up (same as above) 4b Final fill up (your choice of beverage)
Add up your miles for both *tests*. You must use your fuel light as an indicator that its time to fill up though. Just don't be stupid and run out of gas. DOCUMENT how many gallons you got at each purchase to the 0.001. Total them. you should have two seperate totals. Divide your miles by how many gallons you purchased. 100 miles 5 gallons
100 5 = 20
20 would be your MPG. Now this will give you roughly (may not be 100% correct of what your car is capable of) what your MPG is for your current driving situations.

oh. seems like i remember seeing in multiple diff manuals that you should use premium to get optimum gas mileage. i'm prob just remembering wrong tho.
