from our webpage...
When: Saturday, June 23rd, 2007.
Where: Lake of the Ozarks State Park, Missouri
Food and fun with our beloved MoPars and Diamond-Stars, in scenic mid-Missouri, with a relaxed summer-fun atmosphere.
As we crank up the tunes at 10am, people begin arriving in their freshly washed and waxed rides, with the event "officially" kicking off at noon. We'll start the day with lunch, courtesy of Deyeme Racing- subs and pizzas, chips, dips, and soft drinks. As always, feel free to cook up, thaw out, or otherwise bring along something to share. Activities include music, frisbee, horse shoes and other yard/beach games, swimming, parts installations, and a show 'n' shine, complete with participant judging and prize giveaways!!
Next, show off your driving skills or test out your new mods, with a cruise on some country two-lane blacktop, from the event site to the edge of town and back, with pitstops for food, fuel and parts in town if needed. After the dust has settled, we'll be doing more mods installs, bench racing, swimming, and a bonfire or pit fire. The event ends at dusk, however everyone is welcome to camp out in the park (reserve your spot early!) to keep the fun going until Sunday, weather permitting. If you're driving some distance, there's also lodging in town for the night before or after, just a few miles away from the event site.
In order to get an idea of the number of people attending, we'd like everyone to register on the webpage we have set up for this event. Sure, you can show up if you don't register, but you won't be eligible for the car show, or the prizes we'll be giving away(!) including Deyeme Racing products, factory branded items, and other useful things. You'll receive a printable "ticket" that will be your registration number when you show up. You must be PRESENT to win the prizes, and we allow only one entry per vehicle. Only those 16 and older can register (if there are going to be minors with you, please include them in the "number in your party"). If you have any questions, feel free to email Travis.
Getting to Lake of the Ozarks State Park us is very easy. From I-70, Take MO-54 south past Jefferson City to MO-42, shortly before the Grand Glaize Bridge. Turn left (east) onto MO-42. Take MO-42 to MO-134. Turn right (south) onto MO-134. Once on Hwy. 134 inside the park, head to Public Day Use Area 1, near Public Beach 1.
So, who all's gonna be there? Being where it is, you can make a whole weekend event of it. Stay in a hotel or camp out (you can reserve camping spots at that park online). There's Jetski rentals, t-shirt shops, go-kart tracks, we're close to a beach for swimming - it's gonna be a BLAST!
