Ahh! Icy roads creates small disaster!
« on: January 22, 2007, 04:45:32 AM »

I was rushing to get somewhere and swerved out and counter steered to gain control but with the 30% tread tires i have on the back there was no chance. I went flying into the snow bank and just nicked a telephone pole with the front end and ran over a sign sideways with my rear left quarter panel.

The front bottom of the bumper where it hit caved in and a piece of the frame punctured through and theres a large dent on the quarter panel now.

The belt blew from the snow pile up under the hood and I'm having trouble replacing it cuz the tensioner wont loosen up.

There isnt enough damage to make a claim.. I can get the large dent popped out and I am getting a TC2 front in the spring anyway.

It was a sad day today Sad

Pics soon.....

badddd scott! Smiley anyway, i know u kno better so.....glad it wasnt worse....man it seems like accidents are all over the place...wow...when all the cars on the road are controlled by a computer..ppl will probably say how stupid and dangerous it was to have all kinds of ppl getting into all kinds of cars and controlling them especially in wintry weather....i think it would be nice to have a car that has optional computer control

Not as bad as I thought which is good.  Still sucks, but not as hard as a hoover.

It didnt crease the fender.. so it'll be able to be pulled out then touched up.. I will most likely be getting a Paint job in the summer when I get a kit for it. (which also solves the bumper problem).

duct tape to the rescue!........ what? what do you mean we used the last roll? The Civic?Huh Did you really use that much tape to hold on the spoiler?? OHHH... you used the rest on the 3 turbos, gotcha. Wait, you do know duct tape is flammable right? HAHAHA so that's why that guy was back here in the shop yelling at you. ok. makes sense now.

looks like you have 17s but for anyone with 16" tires, tirerack has a sweet deal on some good winter tires. $72 each dunlop winter sport m3s
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Dunlop&tireModel=Winter+Sport+M3&partnum=055HR6WSM3&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes&place=1
they are about $30 off per tire from list. i just had a set of four delivered yesterday. $288 plus 30 for two day shipping.
