Im gonna do a 4 cyl engine rebuild on my automatic 95 veng. its got about 190,000 kms or about 118,000 mi.
will i get any trasmission problems from the added power and stress, or any other problems.
The reason im asking is because a friend changed his 92 toyota corolla's engine and then when they tested it after the swop the tranny went. He ended up throwing his car away.
Please dont tell me im gonna get the same prob with my veng cuz i cant afford another 2 grand for the transmission!

yes you will have tranny problems. especially if you beat on it like im sure you will (cause i know im gonna when mines done) now i know you can do a few lil tricks to beef it up a lil bit as far as stratus gears and a cooler and i know there are others but im a body man not a mechanic. there are threads onthis in tranny tech as well. check in there
if you didn't have any transmission problems before a rebuild you shouldn't have any after. but some things you should have no matter what mileage are an auxillary transmission cooler minimum and ideally diff pin brackets. with that the transmission should last well at stock power levels.

sorry, i was under the impression that you were rebuilding for more power.
or you can refab it and make it a custom, just an idea.
you should also be able to get a tranny from a junkyard too. when i do mine thats where im going. as far as pricing, the average for a tranny where i live is about $150 and thats JUST the tranny. any respectable jy should also have at least a 7 day warranty, round here its 30 days, any probs its back for more parts or refund and go elsewhere
