Unhappy New Year
« on: January 01, 2007, 01:32:09 AM »

As a follow up to the "oil changing woes" thread.... my damn engine locked up.  I made the mistake of trying to drive to the auto shop with minimal oil and 0% pressure on the engine. Shouldve just got it towed... Cry  Then when I got there, my battery died.  So Im thinking, ok, new battery, new oil filter, new oil, I'm good to go.  Wrong.  I got the new battery, and got a new filter and oil, tried to turn over the engine, and all I got was a "Click" noise.  The guys at the auto shop said its an expensive problem to fix, tearing down the engine, finding where its locked up at, and rebuilding it.  SO.... *sigh* I'm looking for another engine to possibly replace it with (I dont want to scrap the car as I've only had it 2 weeks.  Cry )  If anybody here has some good spots to look, I'm all ears.  In the meantime I'll be scouring ebay.

It's the BEST way to go ... By the time he buys all the parts to rebuild THEN add labor to rebuild It'll be over the cost of the swap
