Broke key off...now what?
« on: December 29, 2006, 02:05:00 PM »

Broke the ignition key off in the tumbler of my 95 Avegner this weekend.  How hard is it to deal with that?  Don't have a spare key, so I'm thinking I have to replace the tumbler.  Do I have to mess with the air bags to do that or not?  My Haynes book isn't real clear.  Need some help here.

Needle nose pliers, pull the broken part out.

Go to your local satan... er dealership and give them your vin #, pay $20ish dollars, and you have a new key.  Then go to your local locksmith, pay $3ish dollars, get a spare key.
