Best Camber Kit
« on: January 10, 2007, 04:21:55 PM »

I have a camber kit on my car that has the adjustable cams.  It's the Ingalls kit.  I noticed that after only 60,000 miles, the cam cylinder is excessively worn.  This not only scares me, but makes it almost impossible to hold it setting, and it squeaks and makes clunk noises on bumps.  When I remove the tire and strut assy, I can wiggle the A arm.  Way too much play.  Any other suggestions for a different kit, or should I just get another Ingalls kit and be glad it lasted me 60,000 miles.

What EXACTLY is worn Huh The Rubber part that holds the A arm Or The Metal that allows adjustment ... I've got 70K on mine with the ingalls kit and just was under there and it's TIGHT as hell ... I'm wondering if your adjustment bolts loosened and it slopped around and wore it , or the rubber just gave out  Undecided

The metal cylinder between two cams is wore down and very sloppy.  Hard to explain, but you know the big hole in the sides that the cam pieces set into?  That hole is worn, so the whole cam, even when tight, has play in it.  I can swear I can feel it when I drive too.  Feels very loose up front.   Huh
I think I just may have to order another Ingalls kit, cause I can't fine any other worth a damn.

Sounds like the adjuster bolt on the bottom loosened that allowed it to slop back and forth hollowing out the hole ...

I wonder if this thing being lower then it should was part of the problem.  I might be pushing it too much.
