« on: December 26, 2006, 07:32:46 PM »

This is my GM throttle body on the V6 manifold.
I still have to do some detailing to it n make it look better, but this is where it is right now:

How are you going to get the GM sensors to work with the non-GM car... or are you going to mod it so that the OE sensors from your car will work?

That's a big TB.  I just don't like the idea of welding the damn thing to the plenum.  I saw one that was re-manufactured from tearstone.com that had a whole different main plenum tube from cylinder 1 thru 6, but it was for a different configurated car and it didn't have same sensor locations that we do : example : MAP, IAT, re-located EGR (that are on the plenum).  If done right the whole main tube side could almost be replaced, but you'd have to attach the sensors somehow.  check it out

the sensors were almost a perfect fit. just a lil modification and i was able to use my old sensors. i figured the readings might be different so i used mine.

I plan to do a lot to the upper plenum so i bored out the manifold as much as it could go (63 mm). this would suck for low end power, but i plan to do some changes to make sure there are no negative effects. if anything i can take my sensors off for cleaning and such. i decided it wouldnt pose too much of a problem.

what size is the tb?
75mm tapered to 63 mm.

here's the link to the tb when i got it.

the same theory applied to the exhaust is applied here. faster air through the manifold means colder air to the cylinder, so i plan on modifying both plenums to flow faster air. when i get started on that, i will start posting. that's gonna be a while as i wanna feel the difference it makes before and after..also times an such.  i used this tb cuz i didnt want any restrictions and a bunch of other reasons. now i have a lot of room to work with.

not to be negative and don't take this as a flame

FLAWED!  Faster air will do umm close to nothing, you want compression (example turbo or supercharger)  If you want faster air, put a fan in your intake.  The sell them on e-bay, look for electric turbo.
