2.5L K series turbo?
« on: December 23, 2006, 07:14:36 PM »

Who remembers the Chrysler K cars? remember the 2.5L Turbo?

Ok wizards and geniuses, my question is:

Any turbo can basically be fit onto any engine, the only factors are size (space), piping, and fabricating manifolds.

correct? or is the lack of sleep catching up with me?

If so, I can get the K turbos for $400 before my discount + $200 core.

Also, anyone with a 420a needs to reed my valve cover thread in the 4 cylinder forum.

There may be some fun engineering involved.  Also... can you get the whole turbo or just the centersection?  Keep in mind that you also want to consider the size of the turbo in relation to turbo lag, overspooling.  Then you also have to consider the kind of bearings that are in it etc. etc.

you can make it fit, but will it be a beneficial option compared to what is already out there for our cars.

what size turbo does it use?  I am assuming it is a Mitsu turbo so 16g??

stay away from those turbos because
1 they have a weird flange
2 they are made backward
3 they are small

but then again some peoples here think that I don't know excrement ....

the Shelby was a factory turbo car with the Turbo IV engine fitted with the VNT turbocharger
it was close to be maxed out straight from the dealer

once fitted with larger turbos the 2.2/2.5 common block engine was able to push 400+ hp !

I'm doing some more testing later this week and check for a big announcement around friday or saturday
I may be on to something (once again) that could bring decent to great turbo power for the peoples on a budget using easy to find parts

yeah I noticed that.  I suppose I could check out in there more often, but as I don't have  a V6 and don't know nearly as much about them I didn't think it would be beneficial.
