stock player problem
« on: December 16, 2006, 10:16:39 AM »

i know someone has had this prob before:

got in my car
started it up
ejected the cd that was in it to put a new one in
the cd player wouldn't take the cd
cussed it out and yelled at it for 2 minutes. (helped me at least  Grin)

the player wouldn't grab the cd and take it in. i turned the power off and i actually manually pushed it in after that and i felt the motor moving (like when you push the cd tray of a mutli disc changer closed and the powers off.) and the cd slowly went in (not of its own accord). turned the power on and it wouldn't pull it down the rest of the way for the laser to read it. it gave me the "err" code (error) and ejected the cd. obviously the eject feature works but not the "take" feature.

is my unit beyond hope or is there anything i can do?

Try this FIRST ... Either disconnect the Battery or pop loose the head unit and unplug .... Leave it disconnected for 5/10 minutes then REPLUG or RECONNECT the battery ...It might reset it ....
