aftermarket headlight question
« on: November 30, 2006, 03:00:10 AM »

recently i've noticed some condensation building up in my driver side headlight. i bought these aftermarket headlights off of ebay in june or july and i don't understand how this is happening so soon.

my question is, has anyone else had this problem? if so, what have you done to correct it? i've thought about drilling small holes on the underneath side to let some of the moisture out but i'm not sure if thats a good idea. any help would be appreciated.

i had this problem but fixed it the other day. all you need to do is take off your head light and either do the oven trick (300degrees for a few min) until the clear plastic cover comes off and wipe out all the condensation or you can just keep it in a dry place until it drys out..it will take a while. either way get sealer for the headlight and make sure you have a really good seal so no water can get into them.

I'm not sure if the aftermarket has them but be sure it has drain hose on the inboard side of the headlight ...they help keep water from getting in and allow the headlight to breath...
