What gear oil weight is the dealer equivalent to MS9417 MTX. There has to be one because Chrysler can't control the ENTIRE world.

I also believe this is a good subject, because I'm sure there is an aftermarket better product,  like Lucas or Royal Purple brand ATF+3 tranny oils. What brand, what type, and where to buy it?

I contacted new venture gear about the tranny a long time ago..

the stock oil for 95-97 was 5w30 with a friction modifier in it..

then they used ATF+4

if your in a warmer climate, they said amsoil synthetic 75w90 would be fine..

but.. it's 5-30 gear oil, or ATF from the factory.

i'd stick with the dealer stuff.. it's expensive.. but how often do you really change the gear oil in a manual trans?? once?? twice?? ever??

when i changed it, i used the NVT 350 (MS9417 MTX) and it shifted ALOT better until my *boom* issue.

the old 80w90 that was put in when the clutch set was changed was a milky white color when i drained it out. is it supposed to be that color? could this be an indication of a problem? it shifted perfect until i dumped it way too hard.
