what is this?
« on: October 28, 2006, 02:34:18 PM »

When did we stop making cars as they should be?..i mean...y the f*ck do they make things like these and have em at auto shows. i mean come on oversized barbie mobiles? they're supposed to attract "young japanese girls" cuz they'll think they're "cute". if they want stuff like that they probably arent ready for  driving. seriously, they already have cars that girls will like w/o looking like they're having a  teen-life crisis.  as for this thing, it is def. not a car and should NOT be at a car show...what do u guys think? We're all entitled to an opinion w/o being flamed.

JusBringIT,.....you are so right.  Modern pop culture? Wannabe future people? Bubble cars that make buzzing sounds as they drive by? What is this world coming to? Picture trying to make body mods to one of those.....w/ a vented fiberglass hood......high-rise spoiler......lowering techniques.....projector headlights...... Or maybe their concept was when one of those got into a wreck the top half just pop off and roll it's safety bubble away away?......make sure you seat-belted in though!!!  Cheesy

WTF?!?  Huh

That car just doesn't make any sense. It's designed to wreck (and cause neck cramps).

Isn't that the car that the wheels turn 90 degrees so that you can park against the curb without parallel parking?  That would explain why the cabin is turned 90 degrees.

supposedly it goes 180 so u never have to use reverse...personally, so im guessing all the wheels turn. that needs to be in a go kart derby lol.

the pic is actually of the car at rest. when its driven, the bubble has to be rotated 90 degrees (if you look at the pic you'll see the the doors line up right when it rotates). the rotating bubble is there to put a sense of not being "lemmings headed toward the same cliff". it rotates so that the occupants can interact with each other directly facing one another. In your subconscious this gives a sense of the car being more of a "room" than a cabin, therefore in traffic jams you don't feel as "confined" and trapped in gridlock. just think of Minority Report and the way those cars merged together in the movie. plus the whole "cute" syndrome also.

it only goes in reverse.. and you still have to apply the brakes.. and then go forward. SO it hardly parks itself

I like the idea of the top just breaking away during a wreck and rolling away.  Or maybe they meant for the top to float if you get submerged.  And maybe since we already have "Square" cars they thought we needed "Round" cars.  This is not the rounded edges we want to see on cars.  To hell w/ this car.

I know rite. That commercial is very misleading. I thought that seemed a little out there, not to mention dangerous. Most ppl already have this sigma about parallel parking and can't half do it. The last thing we need are those very ppl letting their car attempt it for them. I see a lotta side-swipped rear ends in the future.
