Fram sux, terrible filtration...the others are good. i have a pure one in right now. from what i heard K &N are just overly expensive. For filter, I currently have one i bought off ebay, and will be buying another one pretty soon for my cold air ram setup which i will be doing soon.

what about urs???

ooooh STOP USING PENZOIL!!!  Parafin based oil, will gum up everything, that and Quaker State are the worst oils you can use.

you are completely right about Fram they are excrement.!!

I'm currently in the transition between using Fram filter & Castrol high-mile 5w-30, converting to Mobil 1 filter & Castrol Syntec Blend.  When I fix my oil pan oil leak I will refill w/ the new. I thought using fully sythetic oil on a high mile engine  was stupid, but I still am not having any oil burn-off & blue smoke.

Mod List.  Um WAY too many to fit on here.  But the engine can handle about 800HP

using synthetic is not necesarily stupid on a high mileage car.  if you have any leaks it will find them though.

So you think, even if I have 149K miles, that full synthetic wouldn't be so bad?  Huh I want to use the best oil possible, just not have as much oil burn-off as possible too? My oil has always been changed every 3k, and since I've had the car I've used Castrol high-mile oil.

castrol gtx and puralator filters. either pure one or the reg ones (depending on my money situation at the time).

yeah, i've always heard quaker state will gum up your engine, but never really ever heard why. just figured if pretty much everyone is telling me that, i'd better stay away. i've also always heard that running synthetic on high-mileage vechicles isn't really the smartest thing to do as it will eventually start leaking. something about the reg oil is built up on the internals of the engine and the synthetic doesn't tend to contribute to that so it eventually starts leaking thru the worn out parts. correct me if i'm wrong about that as i've never personally experience it.

I've tried and tried to run the castrol full synthetic ,but at idle my oil pressure sits at ZERO...Too unnerving so I run the Castrol GTX blend ...At idle it sits middle of gauge ...
Filters are normally Napa gold ...I won a case of K&N's that I'm running now
