that bs about what make is the best is really....bs? like..honda engines last longer than the car?...i mean...there ARE other makes...and im pretty certain the parts are made of similar if not the same type of material...then again there's a lot more physics behind it..but, like evryone else here, im lazy.

I like to stay on top of my game, stay in shape, keep up the good work, and not let my stuff brake down.  Anybody who doesn't take care of their things deserves it to break down.

bringit, two automakers:

Hyundai (Mitsubishi Motors)
Kia        (Mazda)

These cars are never guaranteed to see 250k without major engine work.

That Honda Civic I told you about was the same engine from the valve cover to the oil pan. only ROUTINE maintenance was done on it by the Honda dealership because thats all it needed. Never a new rod, crank, cam or head.

High mileage oil has additives in it that cause your seals to soften and swell.  As seals in your engine get older the heat causes them to get hard and brittal (sp?) high mileage just rejuvinates them.  It also has more detergent in it so it will clean your engine better.  I honestly would not recommend using it every oil change, even on a higher mileage car.  I use it about once every 4 oil changes.

Cool, thanks for the info Nykon. I'll def keep that in mind. Might even try that the next time I change my oil (been having a slight leak, and hopefully that'll take care of it—if it's a seal that is). I too like to keep track of my maintenance. One question tho. Is it really safe to keep changing back and forth between the high-mileage and the regular oil? Guess that kinda refers back to my other question about changing to different oils freqently and how I've always heard that's not a good thing. Just curious.

it's basically like waxing your car after you wash it. not everyone does it everytime because it doesn't need it everytime.

Castrol Snytec Blend w/ a Purolator PureOne Filter. Going full synthetic in 10,000 if the 3.0 isn't in yet.

Do not use Mopar Oil Filters. Chrysler keeps costs for them down by allowing the lowest bidder at the time to manufacture the filter. Alot of times, that is Fram. Fram = oil system heartattack.

That's based on independant studies and Mopar's own records and have nothing to do with parts store mentality. If parts store mentality means making sure that i'm not putting a potential fram on my car, then i guess parts store mentality exists.
