I've run stop lights, run signs, squealed tires, excessively accelerated, 73 in 55, 52 in 35, 52 in 40, many more speeding? (I forgot how many), failure to yield, exhaust too loud, radio to loud, fog lights on, gound FX lights on, exhaust modified from factory.  I have been suspended once for a month (yes, I drove for that time, illegally). Crazy stupid $hit like that......

I haven't gotten a ticket in a loooong time.  Pulled over for stupid stuff like window tint too dark, illegal lighting, no front plate, illegal lighting... ya know.  Not that I don't speed, I just don't get caught. (knock on wood)

One of my drivers at work got a ticket yesterday.  $425 for 34 in a school zone.  The crap part was he was past the "End school zone" sign but the cop said he was within 300ft so he still gets the ticket.  Oregon law now won't let the judge reduce it and it is automatically doubled, that is why it is $425 instead of less.  He is going to go fight it since he was past the sign.

Another friend got a $600 street racing ticket and another $500 something for reckless endangerment when some guy raced him down McLoughlin Blvd.  He was not happy.

I've got over 15 speeding tickets in my time.  I've only had two tickets in the past three years.  And one of them is the only ticket I don't take responsibility for.  I lost my license two weeks after getting them when I was sixteen.  I was an idiot driver speeding everywhere I went.  When I lost my license the first time, my parents stopped my driving.  But when I lost it a second time, third, four, and fifth time, they didn't know about it. (the last three I was over 18).  Some were from too many points some were just from tickets I hadn't paid.

It wasn't worth it.  And it makes it a bitch to get the cop jobs I'm trying for.  I used to think my record was a bragging right but now it's just a GIANT problem.

I personally believe that many more people commit traffic violations, just that they get away w/ it because of the mood the cop is in at the time.  And I believe cops are guilty of vehicle profiling.  Just because I have a fancy looking car, means that they will chase ME more than someone who is driving a Geo Metro, Ford Taurus, or Buick LeSabre, even if they are just as guilty.  It's called discrimination. (but I'm not saying I'm not guilty)

Speaking from experience and knowing most the cops in my area.  A fast car doesn't mean you'll get pulled over.  It's pet-peeves of the cops.  Some cops HATE racing stripes, some hate crap hanging from the rearview, some hate smokers and some hate people on their cell phones while driving (not illegal up here).

So it really just comes down the individual cop.  When I get my job I'll be pulling over people driving in the left lane (not passing anyone) and people with crap hanging from the rearview.  Oh and old people.

I agree with the old people.  They could cause more accidents than a 16 year old.  I don't get how insurance is so high on teens, but old people get breaks on it.  My insurance is 200 a month for full coverage.  It SUCKS.  It used to be 320 last year.  I haven't even had a wreck yet.  No tickets are on my insurance either (I never told them).  I hate descrimination!!

I have to say having a clean driving record pays off.  I haven't had a ticket since... 1999 I think and I pay $195 for full coverage with $200 deductables on my Eclipse and my Outback, rental insurance on my house and life insurance.  I have all the options added as far as towing coverage, door unlocking, bring me gas, etc etc...  I work with a guy that pays almost $300 on an 85 toyota tercel just for liability cause he was stupid and got a lot of tickets.

If I were a Hypo or standard city cop..........I'd get people f/ talking on cell phones, pulling into the wrong lane when pulling on to a 2 lane, pulling out in front of others, taveling in left lane f/ too long, no turn signals, riding peoples rear bumpers, having children wildly jumping  around in their back seats, and many more I'm sure........

the worst is when someone is in the left lane...going the same speed as the person next to them ...and NOT passing...or passing...but going MAYBE a full mph faster. i get sooo pissed...especially when they're both doing 60 in a 65...

I75 N, driving a 96 Sentra 5spd. doing 75 in 65 in the left lane, no big. 03 Altima HAS to be going barely faster than me in the middle lane. keeps it up and keeps me from passing people that wont yield. so finally i decide to prove that thats all he's doing. drop to 4th, slingshot past him and BAM!! "Cobb County" blazened across the back of a crown vic on the left side of the interstate. 85/65 and my insurance refuses to let me renew because they don't carry "high-risk" insurance. It's actually illegal across the US to be driving in the fast lane and be driving slower than the mid or right lane. In germany its taught religiously to new drivers the let a vehicle overtake you and yield. Thats the main reason they have limitless Autobahns. Speeding has become the only cardinal sin in the US because the only majorly supported racing is NASCAR and NHRA. NASCAR is just a bunch of lefts and NHRA is a straight shot.

Fog lights?  Huh  What kind of stupid law is that? I've never seen one that had fog lights as being illegal. They are added safety lighting. Unless you have them pointed directly at the cops eyes instead of the road there's no reason for a ticket on that.

well i was racing someone, i also got an unauthorized speed contest ticket and everything else they could give me.  i was gon race my friend with an 01 neon to 60mph and let off but a honda civic pulled up behind me at the light we were at.  needless to say i wanted to show honda boy his car was a piece of sh*t so we went balls to the wall up the highway.  i passed someone in the exit lane cause i couldnt get over and when i pulled back into my lane i saw an unmarked pullin up and the ass in the honda pullin away like i wasnt even movin. he had blasted his nitrous and smoked me and my man who was right behind me.  well i live in a small town and that was pretty much the only thing goin on at that time and we had all the local (horseheads pd) cops behind us 4 state troopers and maybe 6 sheriffs.  full police escort back to the police dept and i got the previously mentioned tickets plus tickets for my car bein to low, unsafe lane changing, reckless driving, stickers and i had started to tint my windows so i only had the front ones done and i got ticketed for that too. im not bragging i just wanted to share somethin stupid i did a long time ago (2001) and i could have been killed along with someone else in the wrong place at the wrong time. also just wanted to see if anybody else out there has gotten into as much trouble as i have, i also have a book of other tickets ranging from exhaust to aggervated unlicensed in the 3rd (like 6 of them) im now 24 years old and after thousands of dollars in fines that could have went to mods for the whip and having my license suspended more than its been valid i have finally learned my lesson.

its so true, 3 rules on the Autobahn
Must use turn signal,
must yeild to faster traffic or lane changes
if there is a posted speed limit (there are in places) follow it, if the speed has 2 lines crossing it out you can go as fast as you like.
I miss the Autobahn, oh well next summer

my illegal lighting was leds in spots they shouldn't have been not fog lights if thats what you were referring to.
