ok. so when i had the emanage i was getting a code for MAP system performance. it would start up fine, then the second time i started it up i would get the CEL and hit a 4k rev limit. i disconnected the emanage and the code went away. figured it was a problem w/ the emanage. i got the SMT6, installed it, and fired it up, same thing. If I turn the car off and then back on, the CEL comes back. But if i reconnect the MAP wire again directly on the ECU, the CEL goes away. im stumped....
oh yeah. the code is p0106. The car will run fine w/o the SMT hooked into the MAP wire. but will freak out when it's hooked in. It did this same thing w/ the emanage. Ive reset the ECU several times already. Any ideas? I swear im so close to parting this thing out...
you know I was thinking about this for a while man, and being that we both have 97s we're electronically identical. I had no issues with my SMT, and you said your MAP sensor has no issues- what kind of access do you have for a junkyard where you could pick up a 97 ECU? That might be worth looking into. Just a thought....
