New manifold install with Pics
« on: October 20, 2006, 12:45:36 AM »

I bought a new High flow manifold for the Venge.  It adds noticable power and was worth the cash.  I expected it to be a bolt on, but there were a few mods needed to get everything just right.  This is my picture tour.  Enjoy.

New manifold

Paint match

Old manifold

old manifold with out CAI

Bolt that refused to come out

Persuasive bolt remover that saved me from breaking LOTS of stuff

No manifold

Old versus New

Sensors and vacuum

Old sensor/vacuum position

MAP position

Manifold before porting

Manifold after porting (matched to 60MM throttle Body)

New manifold with Sensors

New manifold on the engine (very tight fit on firewall)

New manifold all installed

Mod List.  Um WAY too many to fit on here.  But the engine can handle about 800HP

hmm, looks nice and all, is it obx or venom.. and do u have a dyno of ur "hp addition" ive looked into vennom and obx ones, which look exactly like that one and from 2gnt. the dynos run with that "high flow " manifold on shows its adds on average 2 hp.. i see yo have other supporting mods tho, what are they? others on 2gnt have done the hp comparisons with the obx/venom intake with highly modded engines (boosted), and no real increase is there.. so im just kinda wondering why your application has yielded a "noticable" increase where as other stock and highly modified 420a's have dynoed after application and show no to very little increaces.there was also a flow commparison on 2g proving that the obx/ venom actually wasnt high flow and it was slightly less then stock..but it does look nice.

The manifold is an OBX.  I got it off a private seller.  The 2g is not the same as the 420a, unless you meant a write up about a 420a on a 2g board.

The increase isn't noticable until about 4k, but if you run there and give it, you feel it more than before I put it on.  I just put it on last weekend, and I don't plan on paying for a dyno for something this simple (I'd have to drive 200 miles to get one).

But I'll post before and after track slips.  I don't think it's going to cut SECONDS off the car, but you can feel the difference.  I have a 60MM TB over the stock 46 or 48 (don't remember) and a AEM V2.

Oh and Dave thanks for the offer!

It's only N/A now.  I have turbo grind cams, AEM cam gears, a MSD ignition, a Ported head with a 5 angle valve job, a nitrated crankshaft, indy racing valves 1mm oversized, a AEM FPR, and a few other smaller items (clutch, flywheel, etc)

I need more money and more time, but this will be a fast fully built everything possible (minus No2) 420a Avenger.
