Grinding noise in Tranny
« on: September 21, 2006, 02:45:54 AM »

Ive got a 97 2.0 4cyl auto with overdrive and at 30mph the grinding noise first starts, it seems to be comming from the area where the tranny connects to the engine. If anyone has any idea as to what it might be and suggestions I could really use them. Everything else works as it should, but I will say when I lifted the front end to put the car in drive to figure out where the noice was comming from, I noticed that the Drivers side wheel doenst turn as easy as it should, or as easy as the passanger side. and the noise gets louder and higher pitch as the car goes faster.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Are you sure its the tranny? Sounds like it could be a wheel bearing.
