Tranny sensor?
« on: December 02, 2005, 04:36:53 AM »

So tonight I'm driving on the highway and all of a sudden I downshift into 2nd gear and my speedometer drops to 0.  Can't shift out of 2nd gear and the car stalled once I was off the highway and tried shifting into neutral.  Transmission is very shuddery when shifting bewteen drive, neutral and reverse.  I'm thinking it's one of the electronic transmission sensors?  If so, is there any workaround or am I just gonna have to bring it to the dealer to be replaced tomorrow?

sounds like it went into limp mode. keep the rpms under 2500 and spend half a day getting to the dealer. around a $300 fix, still cheaper than a whole tranny, good luck.

OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR  likely cause... sensor is nearly directly under the ECM under the hood... input sensor  is much closer to the block.  Any codes?  Check the wiring before you buy a sensor, mine was wiring!

Good Luck!
