BROTHER IN LAW'S SEIBRING HAS NO SPARK...
« on: December 02, 2005, 04:05:01 AM »

I am being forced by my wife to fix her brothers car....

It is a 97 sebring convertable v6.

he replaced the battery and now he has no spark.

I heard that if there is something wrong with the fuel system, something kills the ignition.

I would like to supply 12v from the battery to the "coil" to see if this is not a fuel system issue, but i am not that familiar with this car...

Can someone clue me in on this procedure?

Also, can error codes be retrieved from this vehicle,  is it the standard "key on, key off, key on, count the blinks"?

Thanks for any and all help

Try replacing the crank position sensor. THe coil gets 12V on startup, without a trigger (crank sensor), you can't force it to fire.

I pulled car to my warm garage (ohio weather) today and counted the service light blinks...

any one know these?  The dealer told me he only knows p-codes

Where is the crank sensor located?  and is it easy to check voltage on?

Thanks
